Landing Pages Versus Websites

Is It Crazy To Compare Landing Pages to Websites?

It’s not as crazy as you think.  When marketers are just starting an online business they are usually advised to get a website and join the top social media platforms or at least the ones they like or would prefer to use to create content so that they can have an online presence and hopefully make some sales.  Often landing pages are not even mentioned.

Three times as many people are interested in building a blog as there are interested in making a landing page.  Although 1300 people per  month (according to Google Trends) are interested in finding out how to make money with a blog, nobody wants to know how to make money with a landing page.

Yet landing pages have some advantages that should not be ignored.  They have a much faster loading time of about 2 seconds or less.  Why is this important?  Well a lot of us can’t be bothered to wait for any site to load and we just move on if it doesn’t load fast.

Oh yes we all want instant gratification and some beautifully designed and informative websites miss out on viewers just because they don’t load instantaneously.

Another advantage of landing pages is that they are completely focused on the topic and people don’t have to search around for the links or the information they want.   Most of us have grown tired of long sales pages and blogs that after much beating about the bush lead to the inevitable call to action.

Plus it’s a lot faster to create a landing page than a blog.  So it’s simpler and faster to start earning some commissions from the start and that is really what people need to motivate them to build an online business.  There is also one other fact to take into consideration  – landing pages convert better than websites.

So if landing pages are so awesome why bother to have a website at all?  Well, you have probably heard it said that a website is your home on the internet and that is still true.  You can invite people there to find out more about you and your brand and build up the know like and trust factor.  If they like your content or share your interests or opinions they may well return. This gives you the opportunity to showcase your business and your latest offers and find out what they really want and need by encouraging them to engage with you.  Websites can be monetised and many are but usually this takes time so blogging is more of a long term strategy.

Another reason to blog is that if you are using the right keywords that are relevant to your business and content, our great friend Google is likely to find you and if you have done a really good job reward you by ranking you on their first page.  This will increase your leads and sales and could even explode your business.  You only have to set a pixel on your website once for it to gather up a warm audience that you can use when your are ready to scale up with Facebook ads.

So take your pick – do you want fast results or do you have the patience and persistence to slowly build up your business?  No need to choose when you can have the best of both worlds!

If you are ready to start building landing pages I recommend that you check out this platform where you can build effective lead pages even if you are just starting out.

    • Thanks for your kind comment Philebur.  Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but there was a glitch on my WA website.  If you do decide to create a landing page you can get training from a seven figure earner plus 80% commissions for the best funnel builder ever.  It also includes a membership site and online course builder as well as a booking platform and  a free monthly masterclass with other members who have been having success with it.  The good news is that it is only $25 per month
