Patience is Powerful

Great Men know just how important it is to be patient.  Nelson Mandela was the ultimate example of what patience can achieve.  We don’t have to spend most of our lives in a prison to achieve our dreams, but without a vision and the patience to keep on working at it we are liable to miss many golden opportunities.

My favourite philosopher Aristotle  put it this way:

“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.”

Some people are blessed with a kind of inbuilt patience – some might describe it as being easy going but I see it as being realistic.  When you start any kind of business or project you need to have the patience to see it through.  Some people quit because they are impatient for results.   This can happen even when they are on the brink of success.  It’s one of the biggest problems in the online marketing world.   Yes -you have no doubt seen or read about those who have had almost instant success on social media platforms, but often this overnight success has not been as fast or as easy as it appears.

It’s a well known fact that only one out of five businesses succeed.  The online business success rate is much less, some surveys have concluded that 90% of them fail in the first 4 months.  Perhaps this is because new online business owners have unrealistic expectations or because they have not had to pay much to start it up in the first place.  When people don’t pay for something – they don’t pay attention to it.   To lose patience with a new online business in a few short months is so ridiculous.

So can impatient people learn how to be patient?  Not really, patience is a mindset and the only way you can do anything the lack of it is to make a massive effort to become patient.

Sometimes life forces people to be patient.  It certainly did with me.  When I was 13 years old I found out that I was adopted.  I made a decision that one day, however long it took I would find my mother.  I couldn’t have imagined how long that would be, but it took 40 years.  I never gave up and I finally found her 3 days before her hundredth birthday.  It was a day worth waiting for and the patience and persistence finally paid off.  It usually does.

So if you are someone who is looking for the magic button that leads to fast success in internet marketing, you can stop looking now because it just does not exist.  Be patient and it will change your life just as it did with  mine.

  1. Patience is true virtue, sir Thomas Edison I think it was who invented the light bulb failed two thousand times but he never gave up, and look what we have today. Thousands of light blub of different sizes features and make that lights up the world. Suppose he did not have the patience he would have never made this discovery and contribution to the world. He went down in the history books this is just an example among many of the power of patience.

  2. I like this. Patience is actually a mindset and very few people actual pay the price when it comes to online business. A lot of us are not patient wanting instant gratification with no work. Main while their is a need for patience, commitment to work and dedication to see doing it rightly. There is no magic button in internet marketing

    • Hi Owoeye   You are so right.  I am a very patient person – I had to be because my search to find my mother lasted 40 years.  I even wrote a book about it.  I see that you are into creative writing.  I went to creative writing classes AFTER I wrote the book.  What kind of writing do you do?

  3. Thanks for this article. Patience is something that we should all learn to have. Learning to be patient comes with its own benefits, which you have been able to expatiate on in this article. Patience is indeed powerful and I have been fortunate enough to have benefited from being patience several times.

  4. I realize how important is patience. There are other virtues that everybody wants to have but most people don’t really understand why beeing patience is important. I was surely not an exception. But as the years have gone by, I have come to one conclusion: having a vision and working hard towards our goals means nothing if we’re not patient.

    • You are so right Paolo I searched for 40 years to find my mother and my patience finally paid off when I found her in a pub/restaurant in Dublin 3 days before her hundredth birthday

  5. Hello there! Thank you very much for sharing this article on patience is powerful. Actually, Aristotle is my favorite philosopher too and that his quote ”Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet” has been keeping me going in life. Actually, when I started affiliate marketing, I wanted to quit because it was taking too much time. But like I said, Aristotle’s quote inspired me and I didn’t stop. Now I’m making progress, thanks for this post

  6. How nice to read this post!! I’m passing through my third month trying to own some money through Affiliate Marketing and I’m finding it really difficult. And whenever I start hesitating if I’m doing right trying this business or not, life puts me articles like yours in the way. The kind of article that helps you stand up and keep on trying. Patience and also persistence are for me the keys of all, not only this business. Thanks again for sharing this post!! I like it very much and helped me just when I was needing it!!!
